Auckland Blue Rugby Hotties. . .

1000307-577458-thumbnail.jpgSo this was kind of funny.  We had just finished a delicious dinner at Bistro 1284 with jennathan, and were outside having an after dinner drink.  All of a sudden the girls working at the restaurant hurried outside, and starting pointing and whispering like little school kids at these guys across the street.

It turns out the Auckland National Rugby team happened to be in town, and had just caught a movie at the local theater, and were waiting for their van to pick them up.  The girls were literally in awe of these men, 1000307-577459-thumbnail.jpgnaming who they all were, including Troy Flavell (center in our picture).  One even said that her "nan would have an attack if she saw her in a picture with them."

So, the girls dared us to go over and take a picture with them, since they were too embarrased and nervous to approach them.  Feeling little inhibitions after our overly indulgent meal, we walked right over to them, introduced ourselves, and asked if we could snap a photo.

We finally convinced the girls to go over and that we would take a picture, and begrudgingly they did.  I'm sure the couple moments of embarrassment was worth the lifetime of having a picture with the Auckland Blue Hotties!

Dear Joy and Jason, Just sat down to see what was on my e-mail and decided to go onto your website for the first time! I've really been missing a lot. There is so much to take in and it is twelbe o'clock at night so I have breezed through all of your entries and will go back and reread at a slower pace. Have toyed with the idea of printing out evrything and have decided that that would be a good idea. When I go to Israel in March I will take your jounal over for David and Gail to read since he does not have an internet connection. You seem to have done everything right in preparation for this trip and are not missing a thing. Yes, I am green with envy for it all sounds so wonderful. Unfortunatly, I don't have my youth anymore to take me through arduous traveling. Joy, your Uncle Stan would have just loved doing what you and Jason are doing. He would have been in senenth heaven. I do not think that you are missing a thing and from your detailed descriptions, I think that you are also eating your way through that world down under. You didn't mention what type of food is characteristic to the areas you are visiting. I know that all of the exercising you are doing is using up the calories. You mentioned the slow pace of life there, which I had heard befor from other visitors. Frankly I think that would be a pleasure for you can truly take in all of the details of your life there without having to hurry from one place to another and not miss a thing. We could all use a life that is not so fast. How delightful it must be to be in lovely warm climate with the sun shinning and be able to go in the water and not have to wear layers of clothes and boots like we do here. It all sounds to good to be true, but I know that it is. Anyway, I want you to know that through your dedicated journaling of every detail of your adventures, I am now vicariously taking my first trip around the world, and am anxiously waiting for the next installment. Continue to enjoy every moment. Much love, Aunt Janet
